Kocoatrait bean to bar sustainable chocolate exists to ensure that our planet is protected from the harm caused by the excess consumption that is being witnessed. The mission is to eliminate single-use plastics and paper and offer consumers lifestyle-changing zero waste products in the most polluting product & consumption categories. And they have a clear vision of becoming a consumer-focussed, consumer lead brand and eliminating the usage of single-use plastics, and grow with a planet 1st approach.
The brand has been conceptualized for The Conscious Consumer.
Kocoatrait believes that all the activities of a business should be executed without any (or minimal) harm to the planet, people, performance or profits and should be able to repeat the business activity over the long term to achieve your objectives.

Tamper proofing the chocolates better (without having to tear the wrappers)
Reverse logistics program to give an option to the conscious consumer to return back the aluminum boxes, wrappers, or the cardboard box
They are soon stopping the use of thin plastic cello tapes to stick the Bluedart Airway bills on top of the cartons. They use only paper tapes to tape the box.
A few herbs we use in our Sukku chocolates are not organically grown Going by the % we use them in, it is insignificant but we shall be striving to source them organically as well.
Not all the products are vegan. They currently have 3 products that contain A2 milk. A2 milk is considered more flavourful and they source them from self-certified cruelty-free farms. The brand is going to discontinue these variants sooner than later.
The brand only sources raw materials at more than fairtrade prices. They aim to be involved in their overall well-being.
The gel ice packs are reusable and non-toxic but are packed in plastic. They are not single-use and can be reused multiple times at home (for treating body pains as cold packs or transporting cold food which will be replaced soon with more sustainable approaches.
Kocoatrait aims to reduce wastage while die-cutting upcycled material to less than 16% in near future.
The next step for Kocoatrait is to ensure that we increase our reach to all deserved-conscious consumers in India and overseas.
Behind the Brand
Poonam Chordia (founder of Kocoatrait) was inspired by a bite of one of the world’s best chocolates and a visit to a cacao farm. When looking at challenges as opportunities, the brand had the luxury of learning and understanding sustainable consumers’ needs/requirements closely. This has helped Kocoatrait tailor their offering to the needs of that consumer
