"We need to get conscious about what we are doing to the environment. I think it is the need of the hour to shift towards more sustainable alternatives even if this means a compromise in style." (The Better India.com)
- Samiksha Ganeriwal (Founder, Kagzi Bottles Pvt Ltd)
Single-use plastic bottles are one of the real problems faced by our environment. Kagzi is one such brand, which is trying to solve this problem by providing 100% sustainable paper bottles as an alternative.
Kagzi Bottles Private Limited is a Noida-based packaging solutions Company that introduced 100% sustainable and compostable paper bottles. This initiative was formed by Samiksha Ganeriwal in 2018.
How does it start?
Samiksha Ganeriwal , in her previous venture of packing solutions, once encountered a suggestion from one of her customers to make their packing more sustainable. She brainstormed on this suggestion and Kagzi happened with a vision of developing new and innovative eco-friendly packaging solutions to create a healthier planet for our future generation. The Government's ban on single-use plastics like bags, spoons, etc., in 2019 was also a reason for Samiksha to realize that was high time to introduce an alternate.
The problems created by single-use plastic bottles
Most of the soft drinks and mineral water companies use single-use plastic. Around 220 million plastic bottles are produced every day. In which, 80% of those, remain as landfills and take more than 450 years to decompose. These plastic deposits release harmful toxins which deplete soil and groundwater. Some of the plastic landfills are dumped into the water bodies directly and eventually destroy the aquatic ecosystem. While decomposing, these plastics release a huge amount of carbon and methane, which not only cause air pollution but also result in severe health problems like cancer and hormonal alterations.
